Spanish language courses for non-Spanish-speaking foreigners, offered at two levels: Beginner Level (I) for those who can read and write but have no knowledge of Spanish, with the aim of reaching level A1; and Intermediate Level (II) for those who have a basic knowledge of Spanish and want to improve their oral and written expression to level B1. Intercultural mediation is a set of actions aimed at benefiting and promoting the integration of migrants and their inclusion in Galician society with complete equality. Through these actions, we seek to promote understanding between people from different cultures who live together in the same environment, thereby helping to eliminate the barriers and obstacles that prevent or hinder proper communication with migrants, preventing conflictive situations and promoting the fulfilment of their rights and access to different social resources. Through this initiative, we seek to promote understanding among students from different cultures who live together in the same environment, in this case the school environment, in order to help eliminate the barriers and obstacles that prevent or hinder proper communication among the students themselves, between students and teachers, and between teachers and the families of migrant children, thereby preventing conflictive situations and promoting positive relationships within their schools. The ELEM Migratory Union project arose from a need detected in the population, especially among young people, which is becoming increasingly apparent. It addresses the lack of knowledge and awareness of the reality and social situation of refugees and migrants in three countries with similar migration situations: Spain, Lebanon and Morocco. Although at first glance these may seem like different realities, we find broad similarities that allow us to carry out standardised social intervention while also understanding the differences and unique characteristics of each group and/or country. These are the projects we are planning for the future at Senvalos and for which we are seeking funding.
SENVALOS INTEGRATION COMPANY: ‘CHANZOS EIL’
Creation of an integration company that provides training and facilitates the transition to employment for migrants at risk of social exclusion in occupations that enable their stable integration into the labour market.
DOM-WATAM
We want to develop a sheltered housing project linked to a social and labour market integration programme for young migrants who are homeless in the city of A Coruña, who are motivated to train and find work, and who do not have access to any housing resources that would allow them to stay for the medium or long term so that they can focus on their social inclusion process.
